Tips for growing out your hair!

I have NOT taken very good care of my hair for the past few years between bleaching, dying, using cheap shampoo and conditioners, etc. I fried my hair using every heating product trying to curl it or straighten, etc, etc. However, I finally learned how to take care of my hair and it has grown so much! Here are some tips on how to grow your hair.
1)Brush hair from the scalp:
This stimulates your hair cells and promotes growth. I use a wire bristle brush, you can find it here: Sally Beauty and each night brush from the scalp down.
2) Vitamin E and/or Biotin
I have tried both of these and think the Vitamin E actually works better but they are both good. It also helps to promote health skin so there's a bonus! This is the kind I use: here and I take one every morning.
3) Don't use heat
Every chance I get I let my hair air dry. I know that it's not possible all the time. On the days I have to be at work I need to dry my hair because I don't have time to let it air dry. However, especially during the summer, I won't use ANY heat products on my hair. One summer I literally didn't use any blow dryer, straightener, curler, or anything and my hair grew a couple inches in those few months.
4) Deep condition
I deep condition my hair once or twice a week. You shouldn't condition your hair much more than that because over conditioning can be just as bad. I use Moroccan Oil Deep Conditioner: here and Biolage Strengthening Masque: here. I put it on in the shower and leave it for about 10 minutes then rinse it out. You can leave it on for longer (about 20 minutes) if you have more time. It's also better to rinse out with warm or cold water (not hot water) because hot water can kill the nutrients your  hair needs.
5) Heat protectant
If you have to use heat products on your hair then it is best to use a heat protectant. Just spray it over your hair before using whatever it is your using! Here are some good ones: here and here.
6) Don't trim your hair so much
I always heard that you should trim your split ends which I always followed. But if you are always trimming your split ends and your hair isn't growing fast enough then it's never going to catch up! Some people may not care about length and would rather trim those split ends but as for me, since I am trying to grow my hair, I just leave it alone and I can see the difference!
7) Use good products (not cheap products)
I use Biolage Shampoo: here and moroccan oil shampoo: here. For conditioner I use Biolage and Moroccan oil as well. I use It's a 10 leave in conditioner: here and Moroccan oil treatment: here. I have tried lots of different products and these are by far my favorites.

My makeup and hair ideas

I decided to do a makeup post on some of my favorite products.

Revlon PhotoReady foundation is so far my favorite foundations out of the million foundations I have tried in my life. I like that it is Matte so it feels light with complete coverage and it lasts all day.

The next product is bareMinerals matte foundation. I use this on top of the Revlon foundation which helps in lasting throughout a long day.

I actually use a pinkish eyeshadow, but use it as blush instead of actual blush.

I don't normally wear eyeshadow very much because I don't think it looks good on me, but if I do use it I usually use a brownish color. I think it's the only color that is flattering with my eyes and skin tone.

For mascara I ALWAYS use the Covergirl lash blast fusion. Love it!

And the last product I always use is Outlast Lipstain.

Hair ideas:

Well, here's a braid I attempted today. I like how it goes into the bun. I have to work on my bun though!

I love feather earrings too! Especially this pair from ASOS.

Vitamin E

I just recently started taking Vitamin E because I hear it is great for your skin and hair. My grandmother told me that she has always taken a Vitamin E capsule since she was a teenager and  she is in her 70's and has the thickest hair out of anyone I know. It's even thicker than mine! I'm going to have to start taking some!
Also, I made a braided headband out of hair extension. I just did a regular braid but you could do any type of braid. I personally love fishtail and 5 strand braids. I just braid it and pin it under my hair and it's great because you just need to unbraid it to get your extensions back. I love it!:

Blouse is from Forever 21.

Must Haves

I decided to do beauty post on (mostly) household items that you can use in place of all those really expensive items that the regular girl can't afford. Honestly, not everyone can buy super expensive lotions, eye creams, and beauty products. There are some that I believe are worth the investment but for the most part I keep to products that work and that won't break the bank. Here are some things that I use everyday and some things I may splurge on when I have extra cash:

Vaseline: I have spent money on expensive eye creams in the past but this stuff works just as well. I know a lot of people might think it's too greasy (which is why I don't use it on my face or anything) but I use it in place of an eye cream and it works great.
Sugar: I use sugar as a natural exfoliate. I just mix it with coconut oil, or olive oil, or grapeseed oil, or (you get the picture). I use it as a face and body scrub and it's inexpensive. Also, sometimes I add  essential oils too when I think about it. They make your skin even softer and, of course, they give it a great scent.
Latisse (beauty splurge): I honestly have only purchased this stuff once. It can be pricey but it makes your lashes longer, thicker, fuller, just all around amazing. This is especially great for anyone who has really thin lashes or is loses their lashes. But it's great for those who just want thicker lashes in general! I don't even need to wear mascara after i have used it for a few weeks.

Moroccan oil: I use the oil and the hair mask. I started using Moroccan oil awhile ago and my hair was so super soft. I loved it! So I started investing in some other Moroccan oil products and the hair mask works great too. If you want to check back in a few days I will do a giveaway of my favorite Moroccan oil product!

Fake Bake: I am one of those people who loves to be tan, but just WILL NOT tan outside. It doesn't work for me. I try but I either burn or stay so pale. I mean I am so white my skin glistens outside. It's crazy. I have tried a million different tanning products to attempt a great faux tan and this is the best one that works for me. It is literally fool proof. Just follow the directions and it won't streak. Also, it's not that expensive, you can get it on amazon. They have different scents too. I have tried the coconut scented (purple color) and that works great too! The one listed here is the airbrush one but I usually get the original, this one, or the coconut scent. It gives you a gorgeous glow that doesn't look fake at all.
